Laura Wisse


Research Overview

My main interests are imaging of the medial temporal lobe in aging and diseases such as Alzheimer disease and Major Depressive Disorder. I am involved in the development of new tools for assessing medial temporal lobe structures, but I am also interested in investigating how these medial temporal lobe structures relate to aging, disease and cognitive functions, such as memory.
I am part of the Hippocampus Gang, led by Paul Yushkevich, and of the Center for Neuromodulation in Depression and Stress, led by Yvette Sheline.

  • 2012-2016: Ten travel fellowships awarded by the Internationale Stichting Alzheimer Onderzoek, Alzheimer Nederland, the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference, the Society for Neuroscience and the Biomedical Postdoctoral Program travel award to attend international conferences.
